CRM Data Continuity
3 min read
The CRM record transitions from a sales opportunity to a customer account. In most organizations, this transition destroys data. The sales opportunity had forty-seven touchpoints, twelve meeting notes, six stakeholder records, and three competitive intelligence entries. The customer account starts with the company name and a contract value. Everything else requires manual migration or is simply lost. Automated CRM handoff workflows prevent this data death. When the deal closes, the workflow copies stakeholder records, meeting notes, engagement history, and the handoff document to the customer account. The success team sees the full history, not an empty record. The data survives because the system ensures it.
