Pipeline Health Dashboard Design

3 min read

The pipeline health dashboard answers one question: do we need to worry? Four metrics, one screen. Coverage ratio with trend arrow. Velocity with benchmark comparison. Stage distribution bar chart. Aging deals count — deals that have exceeded 2x the stage benchmark. If all four are green, the pipeline is healthy. If one is yellow, there is a developing issue. If two or more are red, the pipeline needs immediate attention. The dashboard is not for analysis — it is for triage. Analysis happens after the dashboard tells you where to look.

The dashboard updates daily at minimum. A pipeline health dashboard that refreshes weekly misses the seven-day periods where deals stall, coverage drops, and velocity slows. Daily refresh means the Monday review starts with current data, not data from last Thursday. The technical implementation is a scheduled pipeline scan — every deal is evaluated against stage benchmarks, engagement thresholds, and coverage targets. The results populate the dashboard. The scan takes seconds. The insight it produces saves hours of manual pipeline review.
