Brand Critic Agent Design

4 min read

The brand critic is a specialized evaluation agent — distinct from the quality critic in the generation pipeline. The quality critic evaluates whether the output is good. The brand critic evaluates whether the output is on-brand. An output can be high quality and off-brand. It can be on-brand and low quality. Both critics must pass.

The brand critic's evaluation flow: load the rule set for the asset's context. Evaluate Tier 1 rules first — any violation is an immediate reject, no further evaluation needed. Evaluate Tier 2 rules — flag violations with specific locations and descriptions. Evaluate Tier 3 rules — log violations for monitoring but do not block. Produce a brand compliance report: overall pass/fail, violation count by tier, specific violation descriptions with locations, and a brand adherence score (0-100).

The brand adherence score is calculated: 100 minus deductions. Tier 1 violation: score = 0 (automatic fail). Tier 2 violation: -10 per violation. Tier 3 violation: -2 per violation. An asset with zero Tier 1 violations, one Tier 2 violation, and three Tier 3 violations scores 84. Our pass threshold is 80. The scoring makes compliance quantifiable and trends trackable over time.
