Trend Briefing Formats

3 min read

Three trend briefing formats serve different purposes. The trend alert is a single emerging trend that has passed the three-filter test — delivered as an ad hoc brief when detected, 200-300 words, conveying the trend, the evidence, and the preliminary impact assessment. The trend digest is a periodic summary of all tracked trends with lifecycle stage updates — delivered monthly, 500-800 words, serving as the ongoing awareness product. The trend assessment is a deep analysis of a single high-impact trend — delivered when a trend reaches the formation stage, 1000-1500 words, including full impact assessment and strategic recommendations.

  2. Trend Digest (Monthly) Scheduled summary of all tracked trends. Content: lifecycle stage updates, velocity changes, new signals per trend, any trends retired or upgraded. Consumer: Executive team for strategic awareness, all agents for operational context.
  3. Trend Assessment (On Demand) Deep analysis triggered by a trend reaching formation or establishment stage. Content: full signal analysis, impact assessment, scenario modeling, strategic recommendations. Consumer: Decision-makers who need to commit resources or adjust strategy.
