The Contract Risk Dashboard

3 min read

The risk dashboard is the operational interface for portfolio risk management. It displays total exposure, concentration by category, appetite alignment status, and trend lines that show whether the portfolio risk is increasing, stable, or decreasing. The dashboard is for the decision-maker who needs to assess the risk posture in under sixty seconds — not the reviewer who needs provision-level detail.

  1. Panel 1: Total Exposure Single number representing total contractual exposure across all active contracts. Trended over time. An upward trend without corresponding revenue growth indicates risk is accumulating faster than value. [RECOMMEND]: Display alongside total contract value to show the risk-to-value ratio.
  2. Panel 2: Risk Heat Map Matrix showing risk concentration by provision type and client. Red cells indicate high concentration. The heat map reveals where the portfolio is vulnerable — which provision types and which client relationships carry the most risk.
  3. Panel 3: Appetite Status Green, amber, or red indicator for each risk category and for the portfolio overall. The status indicator is the executive summary — everything the decision-maker needs to know about whether action is required. Green means no action. Amber means review. Red means stop and remediate.
