Response Playbook Library
4 min read
The response playbook library is a collection of pre-designed response protocols — one for each trigger category and priority level combination. The library eliminates the decision delay between detection and response. When a CEO change is detected at a Tier 1 account, the response protocol specifies exactly what to do, who does it, what materials to use, and by when. The playbook does not eliminate personalization — it eliminates the blank-page problem of designing a response from scratch under time pressure.
## Trigger Response Playbook: Leadership Change — Executive Level
TRIGGER: New C-level executive announced at monitored account
PRIORITY: Critical (Tier 1 account) / High (Tier 2) / Standard (Tier 3)
RESPONSE PROTOCOL (Tier 1 — Critical):
Timeline: Response within 24 hours of detection
Step 1: Background Research (2 hours)
- New executive career history (LinkedIn, press)
- DISC profile from digital footprint
- Known relationships with Ryan Consulting network
- Strategic priorities signaled by their track record
Step 2: Internal Briefing (30 minutes)
- Alert account team and executive sponsor
- Share background research and preliminary profile
- Confirm response approach and messaging
Step 3: Outreach (within 24 hours)
- Congratulatory note from executive sponsor (warm, brief)
- Include: one-page industry intelligence brief relevant
to the new executive's likely priorities
- Offer: 30-minute strategic briefing at their convenience
- DO NOT: pitch, sell, or mention current engagement status
Step 4: Follow-Through (within 2 weeks)
- If accepted: deliver strategic briefing (BEACON prepares)
- If no response: one follow-up through internal champion
- Update stakeholder map with new executive profile
- Reassess account health score with new leadership variable
