Role Auditing
3 min read
Every role in a multi-agent system drifts. It is not a question of if but how fast. Our measurements show an average drift rate of 3.47% per week — meaning after a month, a role has expanded or shifted by approximately 14% from its original specification.
The auditing protocol runs weekly. For each agent: compare current task distribution against the role contract. Flag any tasks that fall outside the contract scope. Measure the gap between actual outputs and contracted output specs. The audit produces a drift score from 0.00 (perfect adherence) to 1.00 (complete departure). Any score above 0.15 triggers a role review. Above 0.30 triggers a mandatory restructure.
