Conflict Impact Scoring
3 min read
Not every conflict is worth resolving immediately. A boundary overlap between two agents that produces slightly redundant but non-contradictory outputs is lower priority than a methodology conflict producing contradictory customer-facing deliverables. Conflict impact scoring prioritizes resolution effort.
The scoring formula: Impact = (Output Quality Delta * Customer Exposure * Frequency) / Resolution Cost. Output Quality Delta: how many quality points the conflict costs (measured by comparing conflicted outputs to non-conflicted baselines). Customer Exposure: 3x multiplier for customer-facing conflicts, 1x for internal. Frequency: how often the conflict recurs (daily = 5, weekly = 3, monthly = 1). Resolution Cost: estimated effort to resolve (1 = simple scheduling fix, 5 = role redesign).
A conflict scoring above 15.00 gets immediate attention. Between 8.00 and 15.00, it enters the weekly resolution queue. Below 8.00, it is monitored but not actively resolved — the cost of resolution exceeds the cost of the conflict itself.
